Platform Overview
Kitchen OS is a food safety and kitchen operations platform for professional kitchens.
It combines automated HACCP compliance and IoT temperature monitoring, digital allergen menus, food label printing, and food waste tracking into one subscription — built specifically for commercial kitchen environments in the UK.
Kitchen OS (also written KitchenOS) is a UK-built food safety and kitchen operations platform. It provides professional kitchens with four integrated modules: automated temperature monitoring and HACCP compliance (Food Safe System), customer-facing digital allergen menus (AllerQ), automated food label printing (Food Label System), and IoT food waste tracking (F*** Waste). Kitchen OS is offered as a monthly subscription from £7.49/month per module, with hardware included where required. It serves restaurants, hotels, schools, healthcare, and multi-site operators across the UK. Free 14-day trial. No long-term contracts.
Each module solves a distinct kitchen operations problem. They work independently or together.

Kitchen OS is a food safety and kitchen operations platform for professional kitchens. It combines four modules — Food Safe System (automated HACCP and IoT temperature monitoring), AllerQ (digital allergen menus via QR code), Food Label System (automated prep label printing), and F*** Waste (IoT food waste tracking) — into one subscription. Kitchen OS is built and supported in the UK, and designed specifically for commercial and professional kitchen environments.
Kitchen OS AllerQ manages allergen information for hotels with multiple outlets (restaurant, bar, room service, banqueting). Each outlet has its own QR code allergen menu, showing only the dishes served in that outlet. When a recipe changes or a menu is updated, all QR codes update automatically — no reprinting, no outdated allergen sheets. AllerQ supports 30+ languages, which is particularly useful for international hotel guests. For banquet and buffet service, allergen menus can be configured to show service-format-specific dishes rather than a full restaurant menu.
Yes. Kitchen OS AllerQ supports multiple service formats within the same hotel or venue. Banqueting menus can be set up as separate menus within AllerQ, with their own QR codes — typically displayed at event registration, on menus, or via a link shared with event coordinators in advance. Buffet allergen information can be displayed per dish rather than per course, with allergen icons clearly visible at each buffet station. All formats pull from the same central recipe database, so allergen accuracy is maintained across every format.
Yes. Kitchen OS Food Safe System automates HACCP temperature monitoring using LoRaWAN IoT sensors. Sensors monitor fridge, freezer, and cooking equipment continuously — recording temperatures every 15 minutes, 24/7, without any staff action. Records are stored in the cloud and can be exported as PDF compliance reports on demand. When temperatures exceed critical limits, instant alerts are sent to designated contacts. Corrective actions are logged with timestamps. The result is a continuous, audit-ready HACCP temperature record that covers overnight and weekend periods that manual logs cannot.
Kitchen OS is designed for kitchen staff, not for IT teams. For temperature monitoring, line cooks don't need to do anything — IoT sensors monitor automatically. For food labelling, the Food Label System tablet has a simple product selection interface: tap the product, press print, and a compliant label comes out. For allergen queries, line cooks direct customers to the QR code — they don't need to know allergen information from memory. The only exception is cooking temperature spot-checks and corrective action logging, both of which take under 30 seconds on the mobile-optimised dashboard.
Kitchen OS is rated 4.8 out of 5 across customer reviews. Customers consistently highlight three things: the reduction in time spent on manual compliance tasks, the confidence during EHO inspections from having complete continuous records, and the simplicity of the system for kitchen staff who are not technically inclined. The most common feedback is that setup takes less time than expected — most single-site operations are fully operational within one to two days.
Kitchen OS is used by professional kitchens across the UK in restaurants (independent and multi-site groups), hotels and hospitality venues, schools and educational institutions, healthcare facilities and care homes, cafes, food production and commissary kitchens, and food retail. The platform is particularly well-suited for kitchens that need IoT temperature monitoring, multi-outlet allergen management, or standardised labelling across multiple sites.
Kitchen OS pricing starts from £7.49/month for AllerQ (per location) and £15/month for Food Safe System (FSS Chef tier). Food Label System is £35/month and includes a tablet and label printer. All products offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and month-to-month billing with no long-term contracts. Volume discounts apply for 3+ locations. Full pricing is at kitchen-os.com/pricing.
Kitchen OS currently operates as a standalone platform without direct POS/EPoS integration. Menu and allergen data is managed within Kitchen OS directly. For restaurant groups with existing menu management systems, allergen data can be imported to reduce setup time. Direct integrations with specific POS or PMS systems are on the development roadmap.
Kitchen OS is built specifically for UK food law compliance. Food Safe System meets HACCP requirements under UK Regulation (EC) No 852/2004. AllerQ meets Food Information Regulations (EU FIR 1169/2011 as retained in UK law) for non-pre-packed food. Food Label System meets Natasha's Law (Food Information (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2021) for PPDS labelling. All products are built with the Food Standards Agency and Environmental Health Officer inspection requirements in mind.
